Brain & Neuro Care

Advanced technology, experienced staff

Whether you need treatment for a long-term brain or neurological condition or you need help restoring mobility, the dedicated specialists at Los Alamitos Medical Center are here to help.

Services offered include:

  • Individualized treatment for neurological conditions
  • Minimally invasive neurological procedures that usually require less time to recover
  • High-quality imaging for advanced stroke and neurological care

We can conduct minimally invasive procedures to treat a wide range of clinical problems, including stroke, carotid artery disease, aneurysms and other vascular disorders. The catheter-based procedures we use are designed to reduce risks and recovery time, require shorter hospital stays and minimize visible surgical scarring.

High-quality imaging for advanced stroke care

Our advanced “biplane” configuration system allows physicians to capture and view detailed 3D images of a patient’s vascular structure and to view anatomy in two planes simultaneously — a crucial technique for the complex brain procedures performed at the hospital. The low X-ray dose settings help clinicians to better manage exposure to X-ray radiation. This also provides high-quality imaging for a comprehensive range of clinical procedures such as diagnostic catheterizations, stenting, balloon angioplasty, vertebroplasty and embolizations.

"Using technology like this, we can usually take out a clot and reverse the patient’s symptoms. We can remove a clot and deliver oxygen to the brain again — this minimizes the amount of injury to the brain. But again, timing is crucial,” says Dr. Hamed Farid.
