Advanced radiation treatment no longer requires a trip across the country. The TotalCare Cancer Center at Los Alamitos offers advanced radiation treatment options, close to home. Our board-certified radiation oncologists will work closely with you to select the treatment appropriate for each patient.

 External Beam Radiation (EBRT)

Our sophisticated new Trilogy sterotactic system offers a more tightly focused beam and can deliver doses more than 60 percent faster than conventional accelerators. Trilogy is optimized to deliver every type of external beam radiotherapy, including: Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), and Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT).

 Brachytherapy and MammoSite

Brachytherapy, for prostate cancer, uses an implant of radioactive seed placed into or near the tumor. This may shorten treatment to a single-day outpatient procedure, rather than several weeks of daily radiation. Similarly, MammoSite efficiently targets and delivers higher radiation levels after breast cancer surgery, shortening radiation from weeks to five days.
