A Different Kind of Operation at Los Alamitos Medical Center
Los Alamitos, CA (March 2011) – Los Alamitos Medical Center’s Operation Snuggle started fifteen years ago with the simple idea to provide comfort to the children that came through the emergency department. During the last year alone, Operation Snuggle raised over $2000 through holiday donation drives. These donations allowed Operation Snuggle to work with Ms. Teddy Bear Company and purchase plush teddy bears. Each bear has a tag that reads ‘compliments of LAMC and Operation Snuggle’. Children are no longer the sole beneficiaries of Operation Snuggle - the program has expanded to include newly diagnosed cancer patients, confused patients, and patients that just need a little TLC. Operation Snuggle also provides food scripts from local grocery stores for our financially less fortunate patients and playing cards and puzzle books for patients too.
