Los Alamitos, CA –June, 2010 Los Alamitos Medical Center (LAMC) has been chosen by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) to be 1 of only 6 hospitals in the state to participate in a three year study to perform elective PCIs (cardiac interventions) in affiliation with neighboring hospitals offering open heart surgery. This is an amazing opportunity to participate in research that may greatly advance medical care for cardiac patients across the state.

‘This is a wonderful privilege for a local community hospital’, said Michele Finney, LAMC CEO. ‘The physicians and staff worked very hard to achieve this and we are excited to be a part of this statewide program.’

Dr. Steven Forman has been nominated as the hospital representative to the CDPH Advisory Oversight Committee. The official selection of committee members is in process. Dr. Forman is an interventional cardiologist who has been practicing for almost twenty years.

Other hospitals selected for the program include Sutter Roseville Medical Center, Kaiser Walnut Creek, Doctors Medical Center – San Pablo, Clovis Community Hospital, and St. Rose Medical Center.
